Delaware Gets Through Nets, 119-104

WILMINGTON - The Delaware Blue Coats (4-3) defeated the Long Island Nets (4-3) 119-104 on Wednesday night at Chase Fieldhouse. The win marks the Coats' first time winning consecutive games this season.

"The message is that we want to keep getting better each day," said Head Coach Mike Longabardi. "We're going to be playing these teams that are ahead of us (in the standings), and if we take care of business, then hopefully we can continue to move up the rankings."

The game was close throughout, with the Blue Coats up five through three quarters, but Delaware separated themselves in the fourth, outscoring the Nets by 10 in the quarter.

Five Blue Coats scored in double figures, led by Ricky Council IV with 32. Javonte Smart and David Duke Jr. chipped in 23 points each, while Terquavion Smith and Melvin Frazier Jr. followed up with 16 and 17 points, respectively. Frazier's 13 rebounds were a game high, with Delaware edging Long Island on the glass, 48-44 overall.

Kennedy Chandler led the Nets' starting lineup with 21 points, and Jalen Wilson was right behind with 19. Off the bench, Keon Johnson scored 17 points, Armoni Brooks scored 13, and Patrick Gardner scored 12.

Up next for the Blue Coats is a matchup with the Greensboro Swarm on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Chase Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
