Del Valle's Homer Seals Win
August 25, 2021 - Northwest League (NWL)
Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
A clutch home run from Francisco Del Valle proved to be the difference in the game as the Tri-City Dust Devils (38-59) beat the Eugene Emeralds 3-2 on Tuesday night at Gesa Stadium. Del Valle's two-out blast was part of a three-run rally for the Dust Devils in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Tri-City starter Ky Bush impressed in the third outing of his pro career. Bush, the 45th overall pick from this year's MLB Draft, tossed 3.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts. After taking the one-run lead in the seventh inning, strong work by the bullpen allowed the Dust Devils to keep the advantage. Luke Murphy earned the first save of his pro career in only his second appearance when he slammed the door shut on the Emeralds.
Coming up in the second matchup of the series on Wednesday the Dust Devils will send right-hander Jake Smith to the mound. Eugene will counter with left-hander Jake Dahlberg.
