
Deja vu all over again for Bulls

Durham NC - Durham collected 13 hits for the second consecutive night on Tuesday to defeat the Louisville Bats, 6-2 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Shawn Riggans and Darnell McDonald also had a repeat performance, hitting home runs in the third and sixth innings, and B.J. Upton stole another base, raising his International League-leading total to 16. Eight of the Bulls' nine starters had a hit, and all of the first five hitters in the order had an RBI.
Another strong outing from the Bulls' starting pitching was delivered by RHP Brian Stokes (2-0), who went six and a third innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits, while striking out seven and walking none. Scott Dunn struck out four while allowing one hit in his inning and two-thirds, and LHP Jon Switzer pitched the ninth, striking out two and allowing no hits or walks.
RHP Justin Germano (2-4) took the loss for the Bats, allowing five runs over six innings on 10 hits. RHP Mike Burns allowed the Bulls' sixth run in the seventh inning, relievers Mike Venafro and Jake Robbins combined to pitch a scoreless ninth.
