TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons open up a four-game home-and-home series with their Thruway rival, the Rochester Red Wings (7:05 p.m.). Tonight's and tomorrow's game will be held at Frontier Field with the series shifting to Buffalo on Thursday and Friday. The Herd comes into tonight's match-up riding a three-game winning streak that has put them back above the .500-mark at 17-16. Taking the hill for the Bisons tonight will be Fausto Carmona. Carmona lost his last start, Thursday in Scranton/WB, despite retiring 11 consecutive batters at one point. Rochester will counter with J.D. Durbin, who has begun his season with five no-decisions.

VS. THE WINGS: This is the first game of the 2006 season between the International League's closest rivals. Last season, the Red Wings won nine of 16 games against Buffalo, the first time the Herd did not win the season-series since rejoining the International League in 1998. Overall, the Bisons are 75-53 against Rochester since 1998.
HOMER CHART: Outfielder Jason Dubois launched his team-leading sixth home run of the season last night. The blast puts him just one homer behind Toledo's Mike Hessman for the International League lead in longballs. Dubois is also sixth in the IL with a .548 slugging percentage.
SCORING LEADER: Outfielder Franklin Gutierrez has scored 25 runs this season and is currently tied with Charlotte's Jerry Owens for the International League lead. Gutierrez has scored 13 times in his last 13 games.
THE CLOSER: Stopper Ben Howard has converted his last six save opportunities and seven of his eight save opps. so far this season (88% success rate). He is currently tied for second for the most saves in the International League.
GOOD DESIGNATION: Bisons' designated hitters continue to put up solid numbers. Jason Cooper DHed last night and picked up an RBI-single to raise his DH average to .333 (5-15). Overall, nine batters have combined to hit .311 (37-119) with seven home runs and 28RBI as team's designated hitter.
