
Defenseman Mike Cornell Returns from AHL

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades have announced that defenseman Mike Cornell has returned to the team from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
Cornell, 25, returns to the "ËBlades after logging one assist in one game played with Springfield during his recent AHL call up. The 5-11 190-pound blueliner has posted (1g, 2a) and a minus-3 rating in nine games played with the "ËBlades this season.
Cornell has appeared in 35 career AHL games with Bridgeport recording ten points (4g, 6a) and 78 penalty minutes. The Frankilin Massachusetts native came to the 'Blades late in the 2012-13 season after wrapping up a decorated four-year career at the University of Maine that saw the defender post six goals and 24 assists with a lifetime plus-7 rating. Cornell has 18 points (3g, 15a) in 47 career ECHL appearances with Florida.
Cornell is expected to be available to play on Friday when the Everblades play host to the Gwinnett Gladiators at Germain Arena. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
