Indianapolis Indians News Release

ALLENTOWN, PA - Adrian Sampson pitched impressively through seven innings to reach a career high in consecutive wins, and both Jaff Decker and Alen Hanson homered as the Indianapolis Indians took six of seven games from the Lehigh Valley IronPigs with a 5-2 victory on Sunday afternoon at Coca-Cola Park.

Sampson (6-3) began his winning streak with seven shutout innings against the IronPigs on May 1 and won his career-best sixth straight decision with today's gem in Lehigh Valley (21-37). He finished his two starts against the IronPigs with a combined 13 strikeouts and just seven base hits over 14 innings of work.

Decker lifted a solo homer in the first inning - his first of the season - and crossed home on an RBI hit from Elias Diaz in the fourth.

Reigning International League Player of the Month Hanson doubled the Indians' two-run lead in the seventh inning when his home run landed over the left-center field wall. The top prospect is now batting .331 with 53 hits over his last 38 games.

Tribe (35-23) reliever Bobby LaFromboise induced a double play with the bases loaded on his first pitch of the eighth inning and Deolis Guerra picked up his sixth save with a strikeout and groundout in the ninth.
