North Little Rock, AR - The Tulsa Drillers, behind seven one-hit shutout innings from RHP Chase De Jong, shut down the Arkansas Travelers 7-1 on Thursday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.

De Jong (W, 2-3) allowed just one single to RF Cal Towey in the fifth, walked one and struck out eight. The righty lowered his ERA from 4.68 to 3.66.

Tulsa jumped on the board early. RF Andrew Toles, who was making his Double-A debut, smacked the first pitch he saw (second batter of the game) in the first inning over the right field fence to put the Drillers up 1-0.

The score remained 1-0 until the fifth inning when Tulsa plated three off Arkansas starter RHP Troy Scribner (L, 1-1).

Scribner, who did not allow a hit over five innings in his debut on Sunday, surrendered the four runs on five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts over five innings.

RHP Austin Adams relieved Scribner and allowed two runs over two innings of work on his 25th birthday.

RHP Danny Reynolds tossed two innings after Adams and surrendered a run on a hit with a walk and two strikeouts.

The lone Travs run was plated in the ninth on a CF Chad Hinshaw RBI double that extended his hitting streak to eight straight games.

Arkansas finished 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position and is 4-for-30 over the three games in the series.

With the loss, the Travs fell to 12-15 on the season. The two teams will conclude the four-game series on Friday night at Dickey-Stephens Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
