BOWIE, MD - Zach Davies stymied the Binghamton Mets offense over seven scoreless innings in a 2-0 win for the Bowie Baysox on Sunday afternoon at Prince George's Stadium. Binghamton mustered a season-low three hits and watched their five-game winning streak come to an end in their fifth shutout loss of the season.

Binghamton started the game with a bang as Kyle Johnson laced Davies' second pitch into the left-field gap for a leadoff double. He took third on a groundout, but was left stranded after Kevin Plawecki lined out to third and Matt Clark bounced out to first.

After cruising through two scoreless innings, B-Mets starter Matt Bowman met his first challenge in the third. David Adams led off with a single and KD Kang kept the inning alive with a two-out walk. Niuman Romero put Bowie on the board by pulling an RBI single into right-field.

Following Johnson's double, Davies started to cruise, putting down ten straight B-Mets. Binghamton threatened to break through against Davies in the fourth. Plawecki reached after getting hit by a pitch and Matt Clark followed with a walk. With two on and one out, Jayce Boyd sent a line drive to the right side. Christian Walked snared the drive on the fly and fired to second to double off Plawecki, ending the inning and preserving Bowie's one-run lead.

The Baysox doubled their lead with one swing in the fifth. Kang jumped on the first pitch he saw from Bowman and cleared the right-field wall for his sixth home run of the season.

Davies shook off his brief stumble in the fourth and sailed to the seventh, retiring nine of the final eleven batters he faced. The righty did not allow another hit after Johnson's first-inning double and prevented the B-Mets from hitting any balls out of the infield.

Binghamton had one last threat in the ninth. Brian Burgamy opened the frame with a double off Oliver Drake and Plawecki singled to left. The righty fought off the rally and struck out the next two hitters before inducing Darrell Ceciliani to ground out to end the game.

Davies (3-4) struck out two and allowed one hit over seven scoreless innings to earn the win. Bowman (5-5) allowed two runs on eight hits in seven innings in the loss. Drake collected his 16th save of the season.
