
Squirrels Snag Series Finale

The SeaWolves dropped the series finale to the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Sunday afternoon at Jerry Uht Park 7-3.
Erie jumped ahead in the bottom of the second against Squirrels starter Kelvin Marte when Steven Moya belted his 16th home run of the season to right for a 1-0 lead. Moya has now homered in consecutive games.
In the second, Marcus Lemon led off with a double and scored on one-out Jason Krizan knock making it 2-0.
Richmond struck back in the top of the fourth against 'Wolves starter Jeff Ferrell. Matt Duffy led off with a triple and scored on a Jarrett Parker double making it 2-1.
The Squirrels took the lead in the fifth. Skyler Stromsmoe and Ryan Lollis each singled putting two on for Duffy. Duffy singled home Stromsmoe, tying the game. Mario Lisson followed with a three-run blast to left for a 5-2 Richmond edge. Parker and Ricky Oropesa followed with a back-to-back doubles for a 6-2 lead.
In the fifth, Erie got one back cutting the Richmond lead down to three. Jamie Johnson triple and scored on a Jason Krizan groundout. The 'Wolves would not get any closer.
Richmond added one in the top of the ninth off of reliever Jose Valdez for a 7-3 lead and eventual win.
Ferrell (4-6) took the loss allowing six runs on nine hits with a walk and four strikeouts in five innings of work.
