Dash's Boesch Earns Broadcaster of the Year

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Brian Boesch, the lead play-by-play broadcaster of the Winston-Salem Dash, has won the fifth-annual Carolina League Broadcaster of the Year award. Boesch received the most votes in a poll among the CL's lead broadcasters and broadcast assistants.
Boesch, 26, also won this award in 2014, thus becoming the first two-time honoree in league history. He is wrapping up his fifth season in Winston-Salem and seventh in Minor League Baseball, with his first two stops coming with the Burlington Royals (Rookie, Kansas City) and Frisco RoughRiders (Double-A, Texas).
In addition to his work with the Dash, Boesch is a studio host and producer for IMG College in Winston-Salem. Through IMG, the Medina, Ohio, native hosts the halftime and postgame shows for the University of Michigan's football and men's basketball broadcasts. This winter, Boesch will also be on the air for several ESPN3 basketball broadcasts at Ohio University, his alma mater.

"They have created a productive and positive environment that has helped me grow into a better broadcaster and professional, and I am blessed to tell the stories of these men and organizations every night."
"The Carolina League has produced many outstanding broadcasters, and the current collection of talent is incredible," Boesch continued. "Therefore, a recognition from them means a great deal, and I am fortunate to learn from and work with them throughout the season."
Former Wilmington Blue Rocks play-by-play voice John Sadak was the inaugural award in 2012. Sadak is in the midst of his fourth season with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A, New York Yankees), while he also works as a play-by-play broadcaster for Westwood One and CBS Sports.
Darren Headrick was the 2013 honoree thanks to his great work for the Carolina Mudcats. He is now alongside Sadak in the RailRiders' broadcast booth. Between Boesch's award-winning seasons, Nathan Barnett took home the distinction while in his second and final season with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Barnett is concluding his first year as the lead broadcaster for the Frisco RoughRiders.
