August 24, 2011 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Winston-Salem Dash News Release
WINSTON-SALEM, NC (AUGUST 24, 2011) - The Winston-Salem Dash will hold the inaugural "Pups in the Park Night" sponsored by Carolina Pet Place at BB&T Ballpark on August 31 when the Dash open a three-game series with the Salem Red Sox. "Pups in the Park Night" gives dog owners a chance to bring their best friend to the ballpark, and will benefit the Forsyth County Humane Society.
This event is the first of its kind at BB&T Ballpark. For $15, fans receive a game ticket for the Nature's Select Knoll that spans fair and foul territory in left field in addition to one Pooch Pass for their dog to attend the game. Before the game, the dogs will be able to walk on the warning track in a Pup Parade.
Included in the ticket price is a five dollar donation to the Forsyth County Humane Society, and a portion of those proceeds will benefit the Dog Park at Tanglewood. Fans in attendance can also check out the Humane Society ROVER (Regional Outreach Vehicle for Education and Rescue) near the gate to see pets available for adoption.
Each dog that attends the ballgame needs to have written proof of vaccination (specifically rabies) from a veterinarian. Pooch Passes are also in limited supply, so fans are encouraged to contact Sarah Baumann in the Winston-Salem Dash ticket office at (336) 714-6878 to reserve their tickets.
The Forsyth County Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization located in Winston-Salem that has served the area for 70 years. They are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership and protecting the well-being of homeless cats and dogs. The Society depends solely on private donations and revenue generated from fundraisers to sustain operations. Fans can find more information at www.forsythhumane.org.
