Kinston Indians News Release


The Kinston Indians fell 6-2 to the Frederick Keys Wednesday night at Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick, MD.

Kinston plated a run to put the K-Tribe on top in the fourth. Casey Frawley doubled to left field off Keys starter Ryohei Tanaka. Frawley was pushed to third on Anthony Gallas' grounder and with two outs came home on Justin Toole's rbi single. Toole finished four for four offensively with a double, rbi and one run.

The Keys took the lead for good one inning later. Two had struck out and two had reached on singles in the fifth for Frederick. With two outs, Miguel Abreu blasted his fifth home run of the season. The jack gave Frederick a two run advantage it would take in to the seventh.

Giovanni Soto worked the seventh in his first appearance since the fifth of June. He gave up three runs on two hits, one home run, and walked one. Soto settled in for the eighth his second. In total the Kinston lefty gave up three runs on three hits over two innings. Soto walked one.

T.J. House picked up the tough luck loss, allowing three runs on eight hits over five innings. House worked ahead all night as evidenced by his seven strikeouts and one walk.

The Indians added one in the ninth prompting a pitching change from Keys manager Orlando Gomez. Chris Petrini struck out Adam Abraham with the bases loaded to close the game.

The Indians were unable to take advantage of bases loaded situations in the seventh and ninth innings.

The roadtrip closes Thursday night at Harry Grove Stadium as Frederick hosts Kinston. First pitch is set for 7:00 pm.
