WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem Dash dropped game three of a six game series to the Aberdeen IronBirds, 4-1, Thursday evening at Truist Stadium in front of 4,610 fans.

Winston-Salem (23-11) handed the ball to Johan Dominguez making his first rehab start since April 20th, 2022 and did not show any rust at all. The right hander rehabbing from AAA Charlotte made quick work of Aberdeen (15-19) over three innings, facing the minimum punching out three.

Offensively, the Dash bats could not figure out IronBirds starter Alex Pham as the two starters flew threw three scoreless innings.

Dominguez departed after the third, and Aberdeen got to the Dash bullpen. The IronBirds got on the board in the fourth on a Silas Ardoin two-RBI single, and tacked on another in the fifth, taking a 3-0 lead into the later innings.

In the sixth, Winston-Salem showed signs of life when Wilfred Veras launched his fourth long ball of the year to left center, cutting the deficit to two, 3-1.

The Dash could not muster any more up as Aberdeen plated an insurance run in the eighth and went on to win, 4-1, taking game three of the six game set.

Winston-Salem and Aberdeen meet again on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Truist Stadium.
