WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem Dash fell to the Asheville Tourists in game five of a six game series, 4-2, Saturday night at Truist Stadium in front of 5,478 fans.

Asheville (26-32) for the fifth time in the series got on the board first, plating a pair of runs in the fourth inning on two RBI singles taking a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth, Winston-Salem (33-26) wasted no time tying it up. After DJ Gladney doubled to lead off the frame, Wilfred Veras launched his fifth home run of the year off the videoboard in right-center knotting it up at two.

Following the fourth, both bullpens took over. The Dash turned it over to Hunter Dollander who fired 2.2 scoreless frames punching out five. In the seventh, Jake Palisch replaced Dollander and worked through an inning and a third of shutout baseball.

In the ninth, Guillermo Quiroz called on Adisyn Coffey for the second time this series, but Asheville was ready for him. With one out, Jacob Melton ripped a solo shot to right field giving the Tourists the lead, 3-2. Two batters later, Ryan Clifford smacked a home run doubling the Asheville lead, 4-2. Winston-Salem was retired in order in the ninth as the Tourists took a 4-2 game five win.

Winston-Salem still leads the series against the Tourists, 3-2, and try to take the series on Sunday in the series finale. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. from Truist Stadium.
