
Darin Kinsolving Dealt to RailCats

GARY â The Gary SouthShore RailCats (Northern League) have obtained outfielder Darin Kinsolving from the Sioux Falls Canaries in exchange for outfielder Juan Tolentino, the team announced today.
Kinsolving, 26, batted .259 with nine home runs and 34 RBIs in 62 games for Sioux Falls this year. The 6-0 outfielder, who has also played first base, spent the previous three seasons with the Chillicothe (Ohio) Paints in the independent Frontier League, compiling a .319 batting average with 40 home runs and 196 RBIs. In 2002 with Chillicothe, Kinsolving's 15 home runs ranked second in the Frontier League, and in 2003 Kinsolving led the league in batting (.336), was second in slugging (.559), third in home runs (15) and third in RBIs (76). The Missouri native attended Southeast Missouri State University from 1997-2000 where he was a teammate of former RailCats infielder Clemente Bonilla.
Tolentino, 27, batted .237 in 57 games for the RailCats this year, socking eight doubles, two triples and five home runs. The native of the Dominican Republic spent seven seasons in the Anaheim Angels organization, playing under RailCats manager Garry Templeton from 1998-2001.
The RailCats open a four-game homestand tonight against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at 7 p.m. Tonight is dollar night, when each of the first 1,000 fans receives a voucher for a $1 hot dog courtesy of Armour, and popcorn and soft drinks can be purchased for $1 at the U. S. Steel Yard concession stands all night long. Tonight is also Chesterton Community night, when Chesterton residents receive $2 off the price of box and reserved seat tickets (with valid photo I.D.). Tonight's game will also be broadcast on the RailCats Radio Network, including WEFM 95.9, WJOB AM 1230, and www.sportsjuice.com, beginning at 6: 45p.m.
The RailCats will play ten straight home contests beginning Friday, August 13, when a LaTroy Hawkins Bobblehead Doll will be given to the first 1,000 kids (age 13 & under). On Thursday, August 19, the Famous Chicken will be at U. S. Steel Yard for a 7 p.m. game against Winnipeg.
