Sioux Falls Canaries News Release
(SIOUX FALLS, SD) â It was a promotion that spanned seven cities in seven states, and it was a promotion that made National headlines. On Monday, August 2, the Sioux Falls Canaries joined forces with six other minor league franchises to host Bobblection 2004, and while it was certainly a hit in Sioux Falls, it was also a hit across the nation.
CNN, a worldwide leader in news service, featured stories on the promotion during "Inside Politics with Judy Woodruff," and its sister station, Headline News, which works on a rotation. USA Today's, and South Dakota native, Mel Antonen, also wrote an article on the event in Tuesday's edition of the paper. President Bush won the election four states to three, including South Dakota 500-438.
The Sioux Falls Canaries begin a four-game series with the St. Paul Saints beginning tonight at 7:00pm at the Birdcage. It's Church Night at the ballpark and the return of Weenie Wednesday when hotdogs are $1. For tickets stop by the Canaries ticket office or call 605-333-0179.
Upcoming Events:
Friday, August 6 marks Boys Scouts Night at the ballpark. The scouts will stay after the game to watch a movie on the videoboard and camp out on the outfield grass.
