Cutter slugger Darick Hall provided the power, collecting a pair of RBI with a home run and a double to back Cole Irvin s quality start in the Cutters 8-1 win over the Staten Island Yankees, avoiding the sweep.
Starter Cole Irvin was solid, logging six innings of of work, allowing just one run, earned, while scattering five hits and a walk while striking out four. Irvin earned his 3rd win of the season.
Darick Hall finished the night 2-for-5 with his 4th home run, in the 4th inning which gave the Cutters the lead for good and then a RBI double in the 7th that extended the Cutters lead. Henri Lartigue, Enmanuel Garcia and Chandler Hall all finished the night with two hits for the Cutters, who outhit the Yankees 9 to 5.
Blake Quinn closed the game with three, no-hit, scoreless innings of relief, striking out two to earn his first professional save.
With the win and the Spikes loss, the Cutters gain a game on State College in the Pinckney division race. The Crosscutters hold on to a game and a half lead in the New York-Penn League Wild Card race with the win.
