
Astros GM to Visit 'Cats

TROY - The Tri-City ValleyCats will welcome Houston Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow to Joseph L. Bruno Stadium for this weekend's homestand against the Brooklyn Cyclones.
The ValleyCats will hold a press conference *Sunday, August 7, at 1:00 p.m. for Mr. Luhnow. *All credentialed members of the media are invited to attend and ask questions. There will be *no private or separate interviews *conducted. His availability will end promptly at 1:30 p.m.
Luhnow was named the 12th General Manager in Astros franchise history on Dec. 7, 2011. Since he took over the baseball operations functions, the Astros player pipeline has become one of the best in Major League Baseball.

*Saturday, August 6* - The Tri-City ValleyCats host the Brooklyn Cyclones for *Notte Italiana! *The* first 1,500* fans through the gates will receive a *Mike Piazza* Hall of Fame Placard presented by AT&T. Fans will enjoy Italian food, music, fun at "The Joe." Saturday's *food specials* include *meatball subs* at the Taste of NY kiosk, *Ziti* *with meatballs and sweet Italian sausage* at Left Field Louie's, as well as *meatball pizza* and *caprese pizza*. Postgame fireworks will be presented by Market 32.
*Sunday, August 7* - Sunday is NFL Night presented by Saratoga Eagle. Fans purchasing tickets on Sunday at the box office will receive $1 off if they wear an NFL jersey. Food specials include chicken wings at the concession stands and chili cheese pizza at Louie's! The 'Cats will also have a Superfan contest, where the best dressed will win four reserve box tickets and a football Hall Of Fame player autographed 8 x 10 photo. It's also Sunday Funday, presented by St. Peter's Health Partners. Fans can purchase the Sunday Funday package of *(4) tickets, (4) hot dogs, and (4) sodas starting at just $25*. *Gates open at 3pm* for the *Summer Reading* program, where members of the team will read a book to the kids, who can also participate in an *on-field pregame catch* at 4 pm, and* run the bases* following the game!
*Monday, August 8* - Monday's game features *No Place Like Home Night / Uncle Sam Bobblehead Giveaway / Home Improvement Night *presented by Rensselaer County IDA The *first 1,500 fans *will receive a *bobblehead *of Troy's own *Uncle Sam*, one of the country's *most recognized patriotic figures. *The 'Cats will also turn the *concourse* into a *mini home improvement show* with multiple local vendor displays! *Fans can visit each one* and have them *sign the game playbill *for a chance to *win* an *autographed ValleyCats jersey*.
