
Darby Shines as 'Dogs Roll to 7th Straight Win

LINCOLN -- Austin Darby had a career night as the Saltdogs (30-22) trounced the Texas AirHogs (20-33) 10-1 in front of 2,986 fans at Haymarket Park Wednesday night.
The first-place Saltdogs have now won a season-high seven games in a row and sit a season-high eight games above .500.
Darby went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double and five RBI - a season-high for a Saltdogs player in 2016.
The former Husker's bases-clearing two-bagger in the fourth extended the Saltdogs lead to 9-0.
Ryan O'Sullivan (3-3) pitched seven innings, allowing one run on six hits to earn his second straight victory.
Ryan Davis and Stephen Shackleford combined to pitch a perfect final two frames.
Curt Smith went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, his 11th.
Dainer Moreira and Robby Kuzdale each had three hits as well in a season-high 16 hit performance for the Saltdogs.
The Saltdogs are off Thursday and open a weekend series in Laredo Friday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Matt Larkins is expected to face RHP Ryan Beckman.
