
X's Fall In Game Two Of Series In Winnipeg

Winnipeg, CA- The Sioux City Explorers struggled in game two of their three game series in Winnipeg, Canada, falling to the Goldeyes with a 17-3 score at Shaw Park.
The Goldeyes offense never quit, in the 17-3 victory over Sioux City, scoring runs in the first, third, fifth, seventh and eighth innings and totaling seventeen runs on the night. Winnipeg finished the night with seventeen runs on nineteen hits and no errors.
The Explorers scored a run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings recording their three runs of the contest. Tommy Mendonca and Time Colwell each scored a run with an RBI groundout in the fourth and fifth innings. In the sixth, Brendan Slattery knocked in a run with a base-hit-single to center field, scoring the runner at third base.
Winnipeg's left hander Kevin McGovern (3-1) received the victory on the night, going 6.2 innings with only three runs allowed, on five hits and four walks, while striking out three.
Explorers starter Ryan Zimmerman (2-8) was charged with the loss, giving up nine runs in only 2.1 innings pitched.
