FAIRBORN - Cincinnati Cyclone forward Jean-Michel Daoust scored his second goal of the night midway through the third period, to lift the club to a 5-4 win over Dayton on Sunday afternoon. The win extends the Cyclones unbeaten streak to six games (5-0-1). Daoust's linemates David Desharnais and Matt Syroczynski each had three points.

The Cyclones opened the scoring 10:32 in the first period, when David Desharnais netted his sixth goal of the season from Thomas Beauregard and Matt Macdonald. Desharnais took a pass in the circle to the left of Jeremy Duchesne and ripped the shot just inside the left post.

Dayton would score the final two goals of the first period, as Mike Walsh collected his fourth goal at 17:27 and Chanse Fitzpatrick tallied his league-leading twelfth at 19:57, a five-on-three power play score. The shots favored Cincinnati, 11-5, in the opening frame.

The second period featured five goals, three of them from the Cyclones.

Dayton opened a 3-1 lead when Matt Beaudoin scored at 9:28, his fifth of the season. Cincinnati scored a pair of goals to deadlock the game at 3-3, when Matt Syroczynski collected his second goal of the season at 11:08 from Jean-Michel Daoust. Then, Daoust scored for the sixth straight game at 12:24 to tie the game.

The Bombers took the lead again at 13:44, when former Cyclone Greg Labenski teed one up from the point-his first goal of the season. Before the period ended, Cincinnati knotted the game at 4-4 with a great individual play from Barret Ehgoetz. Ehgoetz intercepted a pass in the low slot to the right of netminder Duchesne and buried the puck over his right shoulder, Barret's third goal of the season. The shooting edge again went to Cincinnati, 15-9, in the middle frame.

Daoust scored the only goal of the third period at 9:22, his second of the night and seventh of the season. Desharnais and Syroczynski had the assists on the game winner.

The Cyclones improve to 9-3-1 on the season, their best record through 13 games in team history. The win also puts Cincinnati in first place in the North Division. Dayton drops to 5-5-3 on the year, fourth-best in the North Division.

The Cyclones host Wheeling at U.S. Bank Arena on Tuesday at 7:30pm.
