
Wranglers edge Condors 3-2, win sixth straight

Bakersfield, CA - The Las Vegas Wranglers (10-2-0, 20 Points) defeated the Bakersfield Condors (4-8-2, 11 points) 3-2 at Rabobank Arena on Sunday night. Captain Peter Ferraro scored the eventual game-winning goal just 18-seconds into the third period for the team's sixth straight victory. Las Vegas goalie made 29 saves in the victory, as the Wranglers moved into a tie with Victoria for the ECHL's point lead at 20.
Centers Chris Ferraro and Tyler Mosienko also scored in the Las Vegas win. Defensemen Jason Jozsa and Aaron Power each had two assists. Las Vegas returns home to host the Phoenix RoadRunners at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday at 7:05 pm.
In the first period, the Wranglers were shorthanded after forward Ryan Donally was assessed a major penalty for charging at 5:48. The Condors squandered the major power play shifting the momentum to Las Vegas. Minutes later, Bakersfield received two penalties 19-seconds apart, creating a five-on-three power play. The Wranglers took advantage, defensemen Jason Jozsa and Aaron Power worked the puck down low to center Tyler Mosienko. The Las Vegas center scored his fourth goal of the season at 12:43, giving the Wranglers a 1-0 lead after one period of play.
Both teams got on the board in the second period, starting with the Condors. Bakersfield's Andrew Ianiero tipped in a rebound for his second goal of the season at 4:16, tying the game 1-1. Ianiero's goal ended a scoreless streak of 88:27 for Las Vegas goalie Daniel Manzato. Las Vegas countered with a power-play goal by center Chris Ferraro. Defenseman Aaron Power blasted a shot wide of the Bakersfield net and bounced off the end boards to the front of the net. Ferraro stuffed in the rebound for his fourth goal of the season and a 2-1 Las Vegas lead.
In the third period, The Wranglers took advantage of a Bakersfield turnover in front of their own net. Captain Peter Ferraro snapped in his sixth goal of the season just 18-seconds into the period for a 3-1 Las Vegas lead. Condors Captain Sean Venedam countered for Bakersfield just over a minute later, trimming the Las Vegas lead to 3-2.
The Wranglers start a six-game home stand starting Tuesday at 7:05 pm with the Phoenix RoadRunners. Bakersfield and Idaho will both visit Las Vegas over the home stand. The Wranglers will host Teddy Bear Toss Night on Sunday, November 25th at 5:05 pm. Las Vegas fans may throw stuffed animals on the ice for charity after the Wranglers scored their first goal of the night.
