
Danville Fires on All Cylinders in 6-3 Win against Berlin

Danville, IL - First period of the Danville Dashers and the Berlin River Drivers was full of amazing saves off good shots by both teams. During the first period of play there was only one penalty and it was on the Danville Dashers own Aleh Shypitsyn who was called for boarding, while on the Power Play, Berlin did not seize on the opportunity to score and Danville killed the penalty. The period was filled with tons of action between but no scoring.
After the scoreless first period, the second period exploded with goals, most of them by the Dashers. To start the goal scoring, Danville stuck first as Dan Turgeon got one past the Riverdrivers goalie to open up the period, Derrick Shwartz and Ray Tremblay assisted the goal.. Following the goal Danville's own Aleh Shipitsyn was called for his second penalty of the night, this time for interference. With thirteen seconds left on the Power Play the River Drivers capitalized on the man advantage to tie it up, but the officials called a no goal as it was scored off a high stick. As the period when on shortly after Tergeon's goal, Marcus Mitchell assisted by Andrew Harrison and Scott Morongell, he scored the Dashers second goal of the night and give them a 2-0 lead. After a couple minutes went by another Dashers goal was scored but this time by A.J. Tesoriero, Danville's third goal, assisting him were Justin Brausen and Dan Turgeon. Later on in the period Berlin was called for a penalty. Danville did not score during that time but immediately after it was up, again A.J. Tesoriero scored his second goal of the night pushing the lead to 4-0. Towards the end of the period, Berlin got called on another penalty and this time Danville scored on their Power Play, scoring their fifth goal of the night was Ray Tremblay, assisting him were A.J. Tesoriero and Scott Morongell. Soon after Matt Anthony came out of the net to play the puck but failed as Berlin scored their first goal of the night to make it 5-1 going into the third.
Last period of action started up fast as Berlin scored to make it a 5-2 game. Not too long after that they scored again to make it 5-3. They scored those two goals within a matter of two minutes and thirty seconds. It looked like Berlin had the momentum throughout the third period and the way they were playing it looked like they just might make a comeback. Late in the third period the Dashers scored their sixth goal of the night to seal the deal against Berlin 6-3. The David S. Palmer Arena was packed tonight as the attendance was 2,135 and the Dashers gave those fans an electrifying win. Danville will play at home next weekend on Saturday, February 6th against the Dayton Demolition.
