Port Huron Prowlers News Release
Port Huron, MI - The Demolition were looking to avenge a loss at home the night prior and they did just that. They pick up a three point victory on the road, and beat the Prowlers for the first time all season 5-3.
Port Huron opened up the scoring in the first period. Brian Soskin would break the ice for the game putting the Prowlers up 1-0 at the 3:55 mark of the first period. Ten minutes later Scott Kozlak would cash in the equalizer with just over five minutes left to go in the first period. Chris Leveille would put the Prowlers back up by one, as his wrister from the top of slot just barely squeaked by the pad of Karac Davis. The Prowlers would take a 2-1 lead into the dressing room after the 1st.
The Prowlers this season have owned the 2nd period. They've outscored teams their last 8 games 23-5, but the stat didn't live up to the hype tonight. The Demolition would outscore the Prowlers 3-1 in the 2nd period. Three Straight goals from Martin Uhnak, Jacques Lamoureux and Michael Lipari would put the Demolition up by two goals before Justin Alonzo would cut the lead in half. A slapper from Julian Fraser at the point, was initially saved but the rebound came right to Justin Alonzo all alone in the slot for his 2nd point of the night. Dayton took a one goal lead into the locker room after two periods. 4-3.
Third period didn't get interesting until the end, although Jacques Lamoureux would put an insurance marker on the board for his 2nd goal and 3rd point of the night off the stick of Scott Kozlak. That's how the scoreboard stayed until the buzzer. Three straight misconduct calls would be called on the Prowlers as Roger Tagoona would get the first one. A questionable Non-call of a trip on Tagoona's breakaway wouldn't be called. Tagoona would break his stick on the goal post and be tossed. Chris Leveille and Julian Fraser would also receive misconduct penalties with under ten minutes to go in the third, they would be done for the game. Karac Davis gets his first win in a Demolition uniform, making 29 saves on 32 shots. Andy Di'Cristofaro a rare 40+ save loss as he makes 41 saves, on 46 Demolition attempts at the net. Both power plays went for a combined 0 for 8. Dayton will look forward to a Home at Home series with the Danville Dashers this weekend. The Prowlers who just finished a four game weekend that started last Thursday will be on the road this Friday night in Brewster, NY and Saturday night in Danbury, CT.
