5 Things to Know about #DALvLA
Home Stand
The upcoming matchup with the Galaxy is FC Dallas' only home match sandwiched in between five away games. Dallas is coming off the back of three-straight road defeats so taking advantage of Saturday's match at Toyota Stadium is crucial. FCD is undefeated in its last 16 home game dating back to last season, but that also includes the team's five home draws in 2021.
The Galaxy Again
Saturday's match is the second time FCD and LA will face off this month. Dallas traveled to Dignity Health Sport's Park on July 7 and fell 3-1, with Franco Jara scoring FCD's lone goal. Now, Dallas will have a chance to return the favor against Greg Vanney's men and take all three points in front of the home crowd at Toyota Stadium.
Games, Games, Games
It's that time of the year when the games come thick and fast, so Saturday's match will be FCD's third in a seven-day span. Aside from the games themselves, the travel schedule has seen Dallas fly to and from Portland, Oregon last weekend, then to and from Denver, Colorado on Wednesday. While it's tough on the athletes in terms of recovery, the match will also be the Galaxy's third in one week- albeit with less travel in between.
Against LA
FC Dallas' all-time regular season record against LA is 28-35-12 (106 GF, 129 GA). Dallas' all-time home record against the Galaxy is 21-9-7 (67 GF, 52 GA). Dallas fell 3-1 to the Galaxy on July 7, 2021 at Dignity Health Sports Park.
About LA
The Galaxy is currently in third place in the Western Conference with an 8-5-1 record (25 points). Mexican striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez is the team's leading scorer with 10 goals from 10 games. However, Chicharito has missed LA's last four outings through injury.
