New York Battles D.C. United in First Round for Atlantic Cup on Sunday

HARRISON, N.J. -The New York Red Bulls (5-5-3, 18 points) battle D.C. United (5-7-2, 17 points) in the first round for the Atlantic Cup on Sunday night. Kickoff at Audi Field is set for 8:00 p.m. ET with coverage on MSG, MSG Go and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
Coverage on MSG begins at 7:30 p.m. ET with the Red Bulls Pregame show. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing and Michelle Gingras.
New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 7:00 p.m. EST with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Stefano Fusaro will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 7:30 p.m. EST.
Sunday's match will be the 82nd MLS regular season game between New York and D.C., with D.C. United holding an 35-31-15 advantage in the all-time series. D.C. United are 1-2-2 in their last five matches, but in their most recent match, they scored two goals in five minutes to grab a 2-2 draw on the road against Chicago Fire FC.
New York are unbeaten in their last three road matches, after earning a point on the road against Toronto FC on Wednesday, July 21. The Red Bulls will be looking to extend their road unbeaten streak to four matches for the first time since 2018, which included wins over D.C. United (1-0), Chicago Fire FC (1-0), and draws against Vancouver Whitecaps (2-2) and NYCFC (1-1).
Forward Patryk Klimala has recorded a goal or an assist in his last three matches. The Polish Striker has scored a goal in back-to-back matches for the first time this season, after scoring in New York's last match against Toronto FC.
Following Sunday's match, New York returns to Red Bull Arena for a two-match homestand, beginning with the New England Revolution on Saturday, July 31. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET on MSG and MSG GO and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
