BURN/GALAXY SERIES NOTES

The Galaxy leads the all-time series vs. Dallas 14-9-7...the two teams battled to 1-1 ties in the first two matches in Dallas last year before the Galaxy took 3-0 and 2-1 victories at The Home Depot Center...the Burn has just one victory in the last ten meetings vs. Los Angeles, posting a 1-3-6 record over that span...six of the last ten matches have resulted in draws...Burn forward Jason Kreis has enjoyed the most success against Los Angeles, tallying ten goals and seven assists for 27 points in 27 career matches.

GARLICK JUST 20 MINUTES SHY OF TEAM RECORD

With his third consecutive shutout last Saturday at Columbus, Burn goalkeeper Scott Garlick is now just 20 minutes shy of tying the team record for most consecutive shutout minutes. Garlick has not allowed a goal since the 36th minute on opening day, a shutout streak of 324 minutes. The team record for most consecutive shutout minutes is 344, set by former Burn ‘keeper Matt Jordan through the first four matches of 1999. Garlick is currently tied for the league lead with a goals-against average of 0.25 after allowing only one goal through the first four matches. At this point last year, the Burn had conceded six goals through the first four matches en route to a league-high 65 goals allowed on the year.

BURN OFF TO BEST START IN TEAM HISTORY

With their 0-0 draw at Columbus last Saturday, the Burn has registered the best start in team history with a four-game unbeaten streak to start the season. The previous best start was 3-0 in 1998, with two of those victories coming via the now-defunct shootout. The Burn's eight points, however, is not the most points in team history through four games. The most points through four matches is nine, set in 2000.

BURN NOTES

The Burn has eight points through the first four matches of the 2004 season. The team did not surpass the eight point plateau until the tenth match of the 2003 season.

The Burn's 2-0-1 record in April marked only the fourth unbeaten month in team history. The team went 2-0-0 in March 1998, 1-0-3 in April 2002 and 4-0-0 in May 1997.

Goalkeeper Scott Garlick's three shutouts on the year is just one shy of the total shutouts registered by the team last year.

Garlick leads the league with a saves percentage of 94.7%.
