Dahl's Four-Hit Night Helps Isotopes to Victory

The Isotopes (44-56) collected 14 hits Saturday night including four by David Dahl to defeat the Fresno Grizzlies 5-4 at Chukchansi Park.

Dahl's four hits raised his batting average to .484 (30-for-62) in 16 games with the Isotopes. Stephen Cardullo and Ben Paulsen also had good nights at the plate with each accumulating three hits.

Albuquerque grabbed the first lead of the night when Rafael Ynoa delivered an RBI single in the second inning to put the Isotopes ahead 1-0. The Grizzlies answered in the bottom of the second with three runs to take a 3-1 lead.

After Albuquerque got one run back in the third inning, the Isotopes scored twice in the top of the fifth to retake the lead 4-3. Cardullo produced an RBI double to tie the game and later scored on Tom Murphy's fielders choice for the go-ahead run.

Paulsen extended the lead to 5-3 in the seventh inning with an RBI single to right field. The Grizzlies made it a one-run game once again in the bottom of the seventh when Jon Kemmer homered into the right field stands.

Isotopes relievers Simon Castro and Brian Schlitter pitched back-to-back scoreless frames to end the contest and seal a 5-4 victory for Albuquerque.

Starting pitcher Harrison Musgrave tossed seven innings and earned his team- leading sixth win of the season.

The Isotopes and Grizzlies will play the third game of their series tomorrow night at Chukchansi Park. Albuquerque's Christian Bergman (1-2, 4.84) will be making his sixth start for the Isotopes, while Fresno will have Brady Rodgers (8- 3, 2.88) on the mound. The game is scheduled to get underway at 6:05 p.m.
