The El Paso Chihuahuas were shut out for the third time this season on Saturday, falling to the Sacramento River Cats 12-0. One night after scoring six runs in the first inning, the River Cats brought in five runs in the first and four more in the second on Saturday.

Chihuahuas' starter Frank Garces allowed nine runs on 14 hits, tying fellow lefties Robbie Erlin and Jason Lane for the team record for most hits allowed in a single game. The Chihuahuas' offense produced eight scattered singles and didn't have any extra-base hits, ending a streak of 95 consecutive games with at least one extra-base hit.

Hector Sanchez had two hits and walk in the loss. Leonel Campos and Michael Dimock both threw scoreless relief outings for El Paso. Three-time MLB All-Star Hunter Pence went 1-for-4 with a double down from San Francisco on an injury rehab assignment. The Chihuahuas have a 4-6 record since the all-star break.
