Tulsa Oilers News Release
Think of it as the Golden Globe Awards leading up the Academy Awards. While not an official Central Hockey League award. Oilers rookie center Jim Dahl has featured prominently in the annual CHL "Best of the Best" poll. The poll surveyed league coaches and other team personnel on a variety of player, team, and arena categories. The poll lists the top three in 40 different categories.
Dahl was voted the number one best rookie, and was ranked third as the most underrated player, and also third as the best penalty killer. The entire poll results are available on the CHL website at www.centralhockeyleague.com.
The official league awards will be announced at the end of the season and will be voted on by coach's league administrators, and media members.
The Oilers resume action on Friday night against the Austin Ice Bats at 7:35. Cox Communications has 2-for-1 vouchers available at its offices. On Saturday, the Oilers host the Amarillo Gorillas at 7:35 p.m. U.S. Cellular will present the first 2,000 fans that night with thunder sticks and fan placards.
