Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
Fort Worth- The Brahmas Dancers, a group of nine young women that performed at all 32 of the Fort Worth Brahmas home games this season, have been chosen as the "Best Cheerleaders" in the Central Hockey League in the 2005-2006 CHL "Best of the Best" poll.
To compile the CHL "Best of the Best" results, the Central Hockey League office polled CHL players, coaches, and broadcasters for their top three selections in forty categories (on-ice and off-ice) ranging from "Best Overall Player" to "Best Host Hotel". This annual poll, now in its fifth year, is one of the most talked about CHL stories of the season.
The Brahmas Dancers beat out the Eagles Chicks (of the Colorado Eagles) and the Lady Steelhounds (of the Youngstown Steelhounds) to claim the honor as the Central Hockey League's "Best Cheerleaders".
Brahmas General Manager Mike Barack says the "Best of the Best" honor for the Brahmas Dancers is well deserved.
"The Brahmas Dancers are a major asset for the Fort Worth Brahmas hockey club. These beautiful and talented young women do a wonderful job of performing at our home games, interacting with our fans, and representing our organization in the community. I am very excited to see our dance team earn this league-wide recognition," Barack stated.
While the Brahmas Dancers were the only Brahmas entity to win a "Best of the Best" category, the Brahmas did receive two third place honors in the prestigious poll. The Brahmas press box at the Fort Worth Convention Center was selected as the third best press box in the CHL. Additionally, the City of Fort Worth was named as the third best city in the entire league (behind Austin and Oklahoma City).

Fort Worth will next be in action in Lubbock on Wednesday, March 8 when they take on the Lubbock Cotton Kings at 7:05 p.m. at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum. Then, on Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11, the Brahmas will face the defending CHL champion Colorado Eagles at 8:05 p.m. (CST) at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado.
