
'Dads Two-Hit Shorebirds in 3-0 Shutout

HICKORY, NC - The Hickory Crawdads, 1st-Half Northern Division Champions, two-hit the Delmarva Shorebirds for the 3-0 shutout victory, before 2,662 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
The Crawdads (60-40, 20-12) powered their way in front with three solo home runs through the first four innings against RHP David Baker (L, 1-1). 3B Christian Villanueva knocked the first one over the left field wall in the second stanza, before C Tomas Telis and 1B Andrew Clark went back-to-back with solo bombs in the fourth, putting Hickory in the 3-0 lead.
RHP Nick Tepesch (W, 6-3) kept the Crawdads lead intact through his six scoreless innings on the hill. Tepesch scattered only two hits and issued four walks, while striking out four in his shutout performance. RHP Andrew Doyle, LHP Jimmy Reyes and RHP Francisco Mendoza (S, 1) each followed with a scoreless inning of relief work, keeping the Shorebirds (47-55, 12-20) off the board and closing the 3-0 shutout victory for Hickory.
