Hickory, NC - The Crawdads bats exploded Sunday afternoon, hitting three homeruns in a 12-9 victory over the Augusta GreenJackets.

The 'Dads jumped out to an early lead on a solo homerun by Justin Jacobs over the right field fence. The homerun was his fourth of the season.

The GreenJackets took the lead in the top of the third on a three-run homerun off Crawdads starter Tyree Thompson.

The Crawdads quickly got the lead back in the bottom half of the inning, scoring six runs. Yonny Hernandez doubled to start off the rally. Pedro Gonzalez singled and Justin Jacobs walked to load the bases for hot-hitting Ryan Dorow, who delivered a single to put the 'Dads ahead 2-1. Gonzalez scored as Yohel Pozo grounded out in the next at bat. Tyreque Reed doubled to bring in Jacobs and Dorow. Clay Middleton capped off the inning with a two-run homerun to left field.

The GreenJackets got two runs back in the top of the fourth inning that made the score 7-5.

The 'Dads bats stayed hot for three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Austin O'Banion kicked off the inning with a single to drive the GreenJacket's starter out of the game. Gonzalez doubled and brought O'Banion around to score. Dorow hit a two-run homer off the left field light pole that pushed the score to 10-5.

In the top of the fifth, the GreenJackets scored two more runs to cut the 'Dads lead down to three. The inning would be Tyree Thompson's last of the evening. He finished with five innings, nine hits allowed, seven runs (five earned), one walk, and four strikeouts.

The Crawdads pushed the lead back to three runs in the bottom of the eighth. O'Banion started things off with a double down the left field line. Hernandez drew a walk in the next at bat. Gonzalez hit a single to left that allowed O'Banion to score from second. Gonzalez tried to advance to second as the GreenJackets threw home but got caught in a run-down. He avoided getting tagged out long enough for Hernandez to score from third to give the 'Dads a 12-9 lead.

Tomorrow night, Rangers pitcher Martin Perez will be making a rehab start for the 'Dads. Perez previously pitched with the Crawdads in 2009 before breaking into the majors in 2012. Tomorrow is also Make A Difference Monday and fans who bring in new baby items to donate to the Pregnancy Care Center will get a free ticket to the game.
