Hickory, NC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, lost 12-9 against the Hickory Crawdads on Sunday night.
Both offenses came to play with a combined 26 hits. 16 of the 21 runs scored in the game were put up between the third and fifth innings.
During those inning for the GreenJackets, Jacob Gonzalez hit a three-run home run, his seventh of the season. Logan Baldwin also added one of his own, with a two-run home run to right field. That was his fourth home run of the season.
The GreenJackets found themselves down 10-5 after four innings. They slowly chipped away at the lead, putting up two runs in the top of the fifth and eighth inning. Then with the score 10-9, the Crawdads answered with two runs in the bottom of the eighth to end the comeback for the GreenJackets.
The GreenJackets dropped game one of the series and now fall to (2-2) in the second half. Game two of the series will be at 7:05 pm in Hickory.
