February 7, 2012 - NBA G League (G League)
Los Angeles D-Fenders News Release
EL SEGUNDO, CA - The Los Angeles D-Fenders tied a franchise high for total points scored in a game en route to a 138-107 win over the Erie BayHawks on Monday night. The point total equaled the 2006-07 D-Fenders squad that posted 138 points versus Arkansas on Feb. 21, 2007.
Additionally, the D-Fenders, whose record improved to 20-10 this season, defeated an opponent by 30-plus points for the fourth time this year and extended their win streak to three games.
For the third consecutive game, Los Angeles switched to a different starting lineup, yet the team yielded some of its best results. The D-Fenders never trailed to the BayHawks, tied a season-low with 10 turnovers, and registered a 56.4 percent field goal percentage (63.6 3FG%) on the evening.
Gerald Green led all players in scoring after he finished with 35 points (13-20 FG, 8-11 3FG) and seven rebounds, and Courtney Fortson, two days after posting a triple-double against Erie, totaled 27 points (10-14 FG) to go with seven assists off the bench for the D-Fenders.
Furthermore, Otis George started for the second time this season and tallied 15 points along with eight rebounds, and Brandon Costner scored 10 points for the D-Fenders at Toyota Sports Center.
Erie (13-15) was guided by Kyle Spain, who finished with 27 points (10-15 FG, 6-9 3FG), and Mike James, who dropped in 23 points and handed out seven assists. Tirrell Baines notched a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Keith McLeod added 14 points and nine assists in the loss.
The D-Fenders wrap up a five-game home stand on Wednesday, Feb. 8 when they take on the Tulsa 66ers for the first time this season. A limited number of tickets are still available, and the game is available for viewing online through NBA Futurecast.
For the first time ever, the D-Fenders are offering season ticket packages for the 2011-12 season that include special Lakers ticket purchase opportunities as well as various other incentives. Walk-up day of game general admission and courtside tickets are also still available for most home games. Ticket information is available on the team's website ( www.d-fenders.com ) or by contacting Nima Behboodi at (310) 426-6043 / nbehboodi@d-fenders.com .
