Philadelphia 76ers Assign Brackins to NBA D-League Affiliate Maine Red Claws
February 7, 2012 - NBA G League (G League) News Release
NEW YORK, Feb. 7, 2012 - The Philadelphia 76ers today assigned second-year forward Craig Brackins to the Maine Red Claws, the Sixers' NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment marks the 34th time an NBA player has been assigned to his NBA D-League affiliate during the 2011-12 season, and it is the first assignment for Brackins this season and the fourth of his career.
Brackins (6-10, 230, Iowa State), has appeared in eight games for the Sixers this season, scoring five points in 27 minutes. For his career, Brackins has seen action in 11 games, averaging 1.2 points in 5.5 minutes.
Brackins returns to the NBA D-League following three assignments during his rookie campaign. In 18 games for the Springfield Armor last season, he averaged 20.1 points and 8.6 rebounds in 37.6 minutes.
Originally selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round (21st overall) of the 2010 NBA draft, Brackins was involved in a draft-day swap with the New Orleans Hornets who then traded him to Philadelphia in September 2010.
Sixers fans can stay in step with Brackins, who is expected to join the Red Claws today and be available on Thursday, Feb. 9, when the team travels to face the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, by logging onto nba.com/futurecast to watch all of Maine's games live, online, for free.
