
D-Fenders Defeat Fort Wayne for 10th Straight Home Win

EL SEGUNDO - The D-Fenders beat the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 121-106 tonight in El Segundo, CA.
Vander Blue scored 31 points to lead the D-Fenders (20-16). Justin Harper scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Josh Magette (18 points, 11 assists, 7 rebounds), Robert Upshaw (18 points) and Ryan Gomes (17 points, 8 rebounds) all finished in double-figures for Los Angeles.
John Lucas III paced Fort Wayne (15-18). Shayne Whittington, (19 points, 10 rebounds), C.J. Fair (14 points) and Anthony Harris (14 points) all scored in double-digits for the Mad Ants.
The first quarter was all Fort Wayne, as the Mad Ants outscored the D-Fenders 30-17 behind seven points from Fair and six from Lucas. Los Angeles turned it around in the second quarter, outscoring Fort Wayne 39-26 behind 13 points from Blue and 11 from Gomes. Things were all knotted up at 56 heading into the halftime break.
Los Angeles outscored Fort Wayne 36-24 in the third quarter behind 11 points from Blue. After three, the D-Fenders led 92-80. Los Angeles outscored the Mad Ants 29-26 in the fourth, shooting 9-of-13 from the field to claim the 121-106 victory.
The D-Fenders shot .506 from the field, compared to .458 for the Mad Ants. The D-Fenders forced 18 turnovers, finishing with nine steals as a team. The Mad Ants led by as many as 18 points in the contest.
Los Angeles hosts the Bakersfield Jam on March 3rd at 8:00pm PT.
