
Ashley Leads Legends Past Jam

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (17-15) split the weekend series with the Bakersfield Jam (14-21) with a 111-106 victory Saturday night. Brandon Ashley tied his season-high, leading the Legends with 30 points.
The lead changed four times in the first before the Legends took off on a 22-4 run to end the quarter up 17. Xavier Silas posted 14 points in the second to lead a 39-26 rally and bring the Jam within four at the half. Bakersfield's Xavier Munford started the second half with an early layup to make it a one-possession game, but Ashley and Toure' Murry had an 18-point combined push to give the Legends a 13-point advantage with four minutes left in the third. Bakersfield responded with a strong push and took a one-point lead going into the final quarter. The two teams exchanged baskets for the first six minutes before the Legends swung a seven-point advantage. Silas landed a four-point play to tie up the game with just under two minutes, but Tu Holloway floated a jumper with 27 seconds to seal the win for the home team.
The Legends had six players in double-digits led by Ashley with 30 points, 8 rebounds. Tu Holloway came off the bench for 23 points, 7 assists, and Micheal Eric had a game-high 12 rebounds while adding 11 points.
Silas powered the Jam with 29 points, 8 rebounds while Cory Jefferson added 21 points, 5 boards.
