Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
Sioux Falls, S.D. - The Los Angeles D-Fenders defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 107-96 on Friday night at the Sioux Falls Arena. After leading by eight points (62-54) at halftime, Los Angeles built a comfortable lead outscoring Sioux Falls 30-22 in the third quarter and never looked back as they pushed their lead to as many as 19 in the fourth quarter.
The teams exchanged leads nine times before halftime until Los Angeles (3-2) broke a 47-47 tie with a bucket by Brandon Costner with 3:52 left in the second quarter. Los Angeles led the rest of the game.
Casey Mitchell kept Sioux Falls (1-2) in the game by scoring 15 of his 21 points in the second quarter. Mitchell hit his first six shots of the game and also finished the game with a season-high six rebounds.
Elijah Millsap led the D-Fenders in scoring with 21 points to go along with seven rebounds, six assists and five steals. Jamaal Tinsley finished with 17 points and a game-high seven assists.
Charles Garcia led the Skyforce in scoring for the third straight game with 23 points. Gabe Pruitt had a solid game with 18 points and six assists.
The same two teams face off at the Sioux Falls Arena tomorrow night at 7 p.m. CT.
