NEW YORK - Today, MLS NEXT announced the winners of the Goal of the Year presented by Allstate and D.C. United's own Alessandro Maldonado has won it for the U16 age group. Each MLS NEXT '21-'22 Goal of the Year presented by Allstate was chosen by fans, who participated in a social media vote to select the best goals of the season. Alessandro and D.C. United add this to their list of accolades this season after lifting the U16 MLS Next Cup when they defeated Strikers FC 1-0 in the championship game on July 2nd, 2022.
