RSL Academy Defender Gabriel Oksanen Named to Finland U-17 National Team

HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Salt Lake Academy defender Gabriel Oksanen has been named to the Finland U-17 Youth National Team for the Open Nordic tournament, facing Denmark, England and Norway.

Oksanen, 16, joined the RSL Academy at the beginning of the 2022 calendar year, transferring from Philadelphia Union's academy. During the spring semester Oksanen appeared with the RSL Academy U-17 team in the Generation Adidas Cup and MLS NEXT Cup.

Additionally, Oksanen has appeared in three matches with Real Monarchs in MLS NEXT Pro, including starting against St. Louis City 2 on April 29, 2022. Oksanen made his professional debut with Real Monarchs on April 8, 2022, a halftime substitute in a 3-2 loss to Minnesota United 2 at Zions Bank Stadium.

The RSL Academy is set to return from the summer break next month with the regular season kicking off in September, the scheduler for which will be released at a later date.
