
D.C. United and the Embassy of the State of Qatar Host Kick It with Qatar

D.C. United have announced details for Kick It With Qatar, a preseason event at Audi Field in association with the Embassy of the State of Qatar to kickoff the 2019 MLS season and strengthen bonds between Qatar and the US through a cultural showcase.
Highlighting the first World Cup to be hosted in the Middle East and preparing for a continued relationship between health & wellness, sport and communities.
Dignitaries from the Embassy of the State of Qatar and D.C. United officials including Andy Bush (Chief Revenue Officer) and Ben Olsen (D.C. United Head Coach) will be available to the media. Kick It With Qatar will be a D.C. United soccer festival and a free event to the public. It will feature food, soccer and culturally significant activities for families at D.C. United's home at Audi Field. All tickets have already been distributed.
The event will run from 3 PM to 6 PM on Saturday, March 2 - the day before global soccer icon Wayne Rooney and D.C. United take on 2018 MLS Cup Champions, Atlanta United, in the 2019 Home Opener at Audi Field. Tickets for the match can be purchased HERE.
His Excellency Ambassador Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United States, said: "We are thrilled to link with D.C. United ahead of this exciting soccer season and we are hoping to see as many families and children as possible at this fun and free event."
Andy Bush, D.C. United CRO, said: "We are very pleased to introduce this preseason open day in association with the Qatar Embassy for our Black-and-Red supporters. We would like to thank the Ambassador of Qatar and his colleagues for their support."
Event Overview
In preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™ and the 2019 D.C. United MLS Season Opener, we welcome the soccer and D.C. community to an afternoon at Audi Field filled with a variety of sports activities, cuisine, music and charitable outreach by DC Scores.
A celebration of Soccer presented by the Embassy of the State of Qatar, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (organizing body of 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™), D.C. United and DC Scores.
The soccer festival at Audi Field will host a variety of different sports activities, with the use of customized courts and activity space. Local youth will be highlighted throughout the course of the day, including those who participate in DC Scores, and other local charitable organizations.
