
D.C. United Academy Update

Washington, D.C. (July 7, 2014) -- Ten D.C. United Academy players were invited to the U.S. Soccer Local Combine that ran from July 1-2 in Glen Allen, Va. The two-day training event included both on field exercises and in classroom instruction for selected players.
Many of these players were not strangers to U.S. Soccer and have been consistently called into Training Centers, National team camps and other U.S. Soccer events. Chandler Vaughn, a standout for the U-14 Boy's National Team, and has participated in several training camps, international trips and competitions. Jose Carranza is also a regular on the U-15 Boy's National Team and joined U.S. Soccer's Residency Program at IMG Academy this past spring.
Luke Campbell, Alexis Cerritos, Chris Durkin, Derin Kokuuslu, Andrew Nicholas, SahrFelix Sandy, Chandler Vaughn and Andres Vilanueva were all a part of the D.C. United U-14 Academy team that went a combined 17-6-4 this past season. They participated in the U.S. Soccer U-14 Regional Event in North Carolina, Futsal League and the U.S. Soccer National Event in Indiana. Steven Zeballos plays for one of the D.C. United Pre-Academy teams.
