
Cyclones Top 'Gades to Move into 1st Place Tie

Wappingers Falls, NY - Brooklyn defeated the Hudson Valley Renegades by the score of 9-2 on Saturday afternoon to move into a tie for first place in the McNamara Division. It was the first of two in a makeshift doubleheader as the teams completed a suspended game from Friday evening as a result of heavy rains.
It was a total team effort for the 'Clones as the top six batters in the lineup combined for 10 hits and seven RBI with Ross Adolph, Walter Rasquin, Chase Chambers and Wagner Lagrange each collecting multi-hit games.
LHP Kevin Smith(4-1) got the win after tossing 2.0 shutout innings of relief for Brooklyn and five Cyclones relievers combined to allow just one unearned run over 7.0 innings.
The win was Brooklyn's seventh straight victory and gave them a share of first place for the first time since June 26th. RHP Christian James (3-1) will make the start for Brooklyn in the nightcap.
