Cyclones Sign Jimmy Kilpatrick

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones announced this morning that they have signed forward Jimmy Kilpatrick to a contract for the 2009-10 season. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

Kilpatrick, 24, played in the first two games of last season with Las Vegas, before being traded to the Cyclones on October 22. Jimmy erupted for 24 goals and 25 assists for 49 points in 43 games with Cincinnati. He also appeared in three games with Houston (AHL). During the Kelly Cup playoffs, he netted a pair of goals and handed out 14 assists for 16 points in 15 postseason contests.

The six-foot, 187 pound native of New Prague, MN, collegiately at Colorado College, appearing in 148 games and registering 109 points on 37 goals and 72 assists over four seasons. Colorado College recorded two Western Collegiate Hockey Association regular season championships during his time there and compiled a 101-53-10 mark (.646 winning percentage). The right-handed shot was also selected at the end of his senior season to participate in the NCAA's Frozen Four Skills Competition at the national championship finals. Jimmy played junior hockey with Green Bay (USHL) and assembled a 21 goal season during 2003-04-his final campaign in the league.

"Jimmy Kilpatrick developed into one of the top offensive threats in the ECHL a year ago," Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber said. "We look forward to his continued development and improvement on last season."

The addition of Jimmy Kilpatrick brings the number of players on the Cyclones roster to 13. He join forwards Hans Benson, Jonathan Duchesneau, Barret Ehgoetz, Adam Krug, Matt Pierce, Brett Robinson, Dustin Sproat and Mark Voakes and defensemen Jamie Coghlan, Kirk Medernach, Brian O'Hanley and Jason Woll.

Tickets for the 2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 3. The Cyclones open the season at Elmira on Friday, October 16 and after three road games, host their home opener at U.S. Bank Arena against Wheeling on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30pm. There will be a special divisional championship banner raising ceremony prior to that game.
