BROOKLYN, NY - Jeremy Vasquez lifted a sac fly to left field late in the game to launch the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, past the Jersey Shore BlueClaws 1-0 in the series opener at Maimonides Park.

BIG MOMENTS
Jeremy Vasquez launched a sacrifice fly to left field in the eighth inning, scoring Edgardo Fermin from third base to give Brooklyn a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the eighth.
Colby Morris and Michel Otanez tossed four scoreless innings to shut down the BlueClaws. Otanez worked two scoreless innings to earn the win, stranding two on in the ninth for the victory.
Jaison Vilera put together his most impressive performance of the season, firing five scoreless innings on just 58 pitches. Vilera struck out three and walked one, getting out of big trouble in the fifth with runners at first and third and one out.

NEWS AND NOTES
Joe Suozzi, called up today from Low-A St. Lucie, made his Brooklyn Cyclones debut in left field. Suozzi hails from Glen Cove, NY and went to Chaminade High School.
The Cyclones won back-to-back games for the first time since June 25-26 against Jersey Shore.
Manager Ed Blankmeyer missed Tuesday's game due to a one-game suspension as a result of Sunday's ejection in Hudson Valley.
