July 13, 2021 - South Atlantic League (SAL)
Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

James Nelson homered and drove in two as the Hudson Valley Renegades opened a 12-game road trip with a 9-4 victory over the Wilmington Blue Rocks.

The Gades were down 1-0 entering the fourth inning when the offense kicked into gear. Anthony Seigler walked and moved to third on a single by newcomer Jake Sanford. Seigler then scored to tie the game on a wild pitch. Nelson followed with his ninth home run of the year to open up a 3-1 lead.

Sanford finished with two hits on the night -- one of five Renegades to do so. Nelson, Ezequiel Duran, Chad Bell, and Pablo Olivares were the others.

Anthony Volpe -- the Yankees' first-round draft pick in 2019 -- singled, walked, and drove in a run in his debut for the Renegades.

Starting pitcher Josh Maciejewiski allowed a run on two hits with seven strikeouts over five innings to get the win (4-3). Jackson Tetreault took the loss for Wilmington (0-1).

The teams continue the six-game series on Wednesday.

Per the State of New York, the Renegades are now open at 100% capacity. Tickets continue to be a tremendous value starting as low as $6. Visit HVRenegades.com for ticket information and so much more.
