TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: Tonight the Cyclones will look to knock off an undefeated team for the second straight game as they visit the 4-0 Elmira Jackals for the first of a two-game weekend series. Cincinnati leads the all-time match-up with Elmira, earning a 17-12-0-3 record. However, the games in New York have been played very evenly; the Clones sport an 8-8-0-1 mark at First Arena.

SCOUTING THE JACKALS: Dwight Mullins' club will wrap up its season-opening six game home-stand this weekend in hopes of keeping its perfect record alive. The Jackals are having their best start since the 2009-10 season when they won their first seven games. Elmira has out-scored its opponents by a combined total of 19-5 in the first four contests...thanks in part to Dustin Gazely. Last year's ECHL Rookie of the Year is tied for fourth in the league with eight points (3 goals, 5 assists) and is tied for the lead in game-winning goals (2). In net, the Jackals will send a familiar face - Marc Cheverie. The former Cyclone is having a tremendous beginning to his third pro season, leading the league in wins (3), ranking second by posting a 1.00 goals-against average, and has earned a 96.8% save percentage, which ranks third in the ECHL.

Historically Good Start: The Clones have kicked off the 2012-13 season with a 2-0-1-0 record, which is the best start since the team returned to ECHL play in 2006-07. While they suffered an OT loss to Toledo last Friday, the Cyclones have earned five of a possible six points in total this year.

Career Night for "O-H": Cyclones defenseman Brian O'Hanley enjoyed a three-point night last Saturday against Trenton - including a pair of goals. It was the first time in his professional career that "O-H" notched multiple goals in a single game. With the strong start, he is tied for the team lead in points (4) and ranks second among all ECHL rear guards. Thanks to the solid performance, he was recalled to the San Antonio Rampage on Wednesday.

Scoring First Matters...: Both Cincinnati and Elmira have found success when opening the scoring. In fact, both teams have scored the first goal in all of their respective games coming into the weekend.

...But It Might Be Tough: While getting early leads are important, attaining one could be tough in this series. The Clones have only allowed two first period goals while the Jackals have not allowed a single one
