November 27, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
Reading, PA- The Cincinnati Cyclones (7-9-2-0) fell to the Reading Royals, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon. Defenseman Eric Knodel and forward Andrew Yogan netted the goals for the Cyclones.
Cincinnati got on the board early in this one while on the power play when forward Kenny Ryan sent a pass from the left circle to Knodel at the point, and he hammered a slapshot past Reading goaltender Martin Ouellette to put the Cyclones ahead, 1-0.
Cincinnati took their 1-0 into the locker room after the first, and in the second the Cyclones extended their lead to 2-0 just 24 seconds in when Yogan attempted a centering pass that deflected off of a Reading Royal skate and past Ouellette to push Cincinnati's lead to two goals.
Reading found the back of the net in the waning seconds of the second when forward Kevin Sundher beat Cyclones goaltender Joel Rumpel to cut Cincinnati's lead to 2-1 after two periods.
The Royals came alive in the third, receiving three goals in the first 5:50 of the frame from defenseman Nick Luukko, and forwards Tyrell Goulborne and Justin Crandall to take a 4-2 lead.
Reading tacked on one more with roughly two and a half minutes left from forward Michael Pelech to seal their 5-2 win.
The Cyclones were outshot, 29-25 on the night, with Rumpel turning aside 24 in the loss. Cincinnati next hits the ice on Friday night in Indy when they battle the Fuel. Face-off is slated for 7:35pm ET.
