Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with forwards Chris Morehouse and Anthony Iaquinto for the 2010-11 season.
Morehouse will skate in his first full season with the Cyclones after being acquired on December 1, 2009 in a trade with the Alaska Aces. In 36 games with Cincinnati in 2009-10, Morehouse racked up 102 penalty-minutes. Last season, in games that Morehouse was involved in a fight, the Cyclones posted an 11-2-0 record. The five-foot-nine, 180 pound native of Saint John, NB, also played three seasons (2005-06 through 2007-08) with Moncton (QMJHL). During his time in the QMJHL, Morehouse played in 184 games and picked up 36 goals and 68 assists while amassing 450 penalty minutes. He was also involved in 29 fights during his junior career.
"Chris is a character guy with a lot of energy," said Cyclones Head Coach Jarrod Skalde. "I'm looking forward to having his work ethic, which will be a very positive influence on this team."
Iaquinto joins the Cyclones after completing last season with the Motor City Metal Jackets of the NAHL. The 6'1", 190 lbs right handed forward spent two seasons in the NAHL previously spending a single season in the OHL. The Brighton, MI native set career highs last season with 20 goals and 14 assists while accumulating 136 penalty minutes including seven fighting majors. The Cyclones will be the rookie wingers first stop as a professional.
"Anthony competes hard and does many things well," said Skalde. "He will certainly bring a physical element to our group."
The defending Kelly Cup Champion Cyclones open their home schedule on Saturday, October 30th at U.S. Bank Arena against the Wheeling Nailers. Discounted ticket packages for the 2010-2011 season are available now. For more information, call 513.421.PUCK (7825) or visit CyclonesHockey.com.
